Hey SoCal gals: No end-of-summer pouts allowed. Hit the
humor circuit this month or keep it classic with some of
L.A.’s killer weekly parties! We have plenty of action for
you to indulge in before sweater season rolls around!

The Truck Stops Here!
This weekly party has all the raucous ruckus WeHo was missing!
Wear your best trucker hat and stomp your feet to the sounds
of Poison, Nine Inch Nails and other ‘80s/’90s rock. Your
favorite videos are projected onto the interior’s brick
walls! Bring a couple of your best looking Lincolns if
you can handle $5 body shots, courtesy of the Truck Stop
bartenders-turned-dancers! Fridays. here lounge, 696 N.
Roberston Blvd., WeHo. fuseevents.com
The Cure For What Ails You
Ladies Touch Entertainment certainly knows how to put its
own unique spin on the whole hair-of-the-dog routine. Stop
by Remedy, your one-stop hangover cure, on Sundays from
2-11 p.m. for its “bangin’” brunch specials and two-for-one
deals on mimosas! And if you start to feel so much better
that you want to kick up your heels, move over to either
of the two dance floors of bumping hip-hop and reggae.
Sundays, 2-11 p.m. Benvenuto Café, 8512 Santa Monica Blvd.,
WeHo. myspace.com/touchgirlent
Blast from the Past
Josh Peace, Danny G. and Nacho are throwing their Mustache
Monday brand in the faces of downtown L.A.’s coolest hipsters.
Come check out what the New York club kid scene, circa
1992, felt like! Electro-hop, mash-ups and twists on classic
hits are guaranteed to get your backside swinging. Pastels
and neon palettes are common attire at this mixed night
for lesbians and gays. 10 p.m.-2 a.m., Free. Mustache Mondays,
743 E. 3rd St. L.A. myspace.com/mustachemondays
Funny Girls
If you use humor to pick up women then the Palms has configured
an evening especially for you. Do you dare bring your funny
into a lounge full of drunken dandies for the Palms’ Open
Mic Comedy Night? You may want to take advantage of the
house drink specials and buy a round for the crowd before
you start tearing through your jokes. If you haven’t seen
the Palms lately, check out the new decor. This is a fantastic
Tuesday night for people watching. Tuesdays from 9-11p.m.
Free. The Palms, 8572 Santa Monica Blvd., WeHo. thepalmsbar.com
Funny
For the Money
She is the first lesbian comedian to garner an HBO comedy
special (yes, even before Ellen) as well as the first to
perform on Late Night with David Letterman. And now Suzanne
Westenhoefer is gearing up for her first cruise ship tour!
Catch her before she hits the high seas! Sept. 28, John Anson
Ford Theater, 2580 Cahuenga Blvd., Hollywood. suzannew.com.
