While Cinco de Mayo may be over, there are still plenty
of slamtastic events for Los Angeles broads looking for lustivities!
This month weekdays are the new black and Mother’s
Day is celebrated on the 24th.

If I Could Turn Back Time
DJ Brynn Taylor offers a new Sunday night dubbed Rewind,
bringing the best old school music with selections from
the ’80s and ’90s. What’s more—if
you like the sound of 12 quarters slamming down on the
bar counter for domestic beer, this is the night for you.
Fancy gals save $2 off of their martinis. Clear Lounge,
11916 Ventura Blvd., Studio City. No cover. Doors open
at 10 p.m. www.clearlounge.net
Get Your Pre-Hump On
What better way to stave off mid-week insanity than by getting
together with the girls and heading to Fuse for a weekly
grown-up cocktail dance party at Eleven. DJ Saratonin keeps
the girls feeling good, spinning R&B, ’80s, Funk
and Top 40 hits. And if all that chatting up and dancing
has a girl feeling peckish, no worries. The nightly chef
provides the most delectable dishes for your dining pleasure.
Prime dinner reservations can be made from 7-9 p.m. No cover.

Save the
Drama for your Mama
Remember that time you were on the synchronized swimming
team in high school, and you befriended the buxom blond star
so that you could shamelessly crush on her? Celine Sciamma,
in her directorial debut, does. Waterlillies reveals the
story of three 15-year-old girls in a web of hetero-homo
connections competing for one another’s attention.
Floriane (Adele Haenel), a sexually active, curvaceous young
lady, is the saucy object of affection to a boyishly awkward
Marie (Pauline Acquart). The two become pals as Marie covers
for Floriane’s sexcapades with her boyfriend. Anne
(Louis Blachere) is the jealous, extroverted, self-conscious
best friend of Marie—hungry for the attention of a
boy. Catch it all on Friday, May 16. Landmark NuArt Theatre,
11272 Santa Monica Blvd., L.A. www.landmarktheatres.com
Y Tu Mama También
This is not your usual Mother’s Day celebration! On
May 24, throw up your sombreros and shake your maracas like
it's going out of style as my fellow Mexican, lesbian nightlife
photographer, La Madre, celebrates her birthday. DJ LezLee
and DJ Jewels will be there, going head-to-head for L.A.’s
best looking lesbians! Art and video installations by Yvonne
Claire and Kate Phillips, live performances by Zombie Zombie
and the electroghetto go-go girls will all be there. You
don’t have to like taquitos to experience this event,
however, wearing your “I Heart Mexicanas!” T-shirt
wouldn't be a bad idea. 1624 W. 34th St., L.A. www.myspace.com/lamugrosa
