The only thing sexier than a man in a suit is a man with an accent. So when Salvatore Galati, who showed up looking dapper as all hell in a shirt and tie, opened his mouth, our knees went weak—that Australian purr! The 33-year-old Sydney transplant moved to Los Angeles eight years ago, looking for a new adventure. Now, Galati spends his time selling condos and houses in Hollywood and West Hollywood. We were able to get the Aussie hottie in front of our cameras—sadly, his professionalism precluded any chance of taking his shirt off to show off his ridicuously hot abs, but we understood—to pose for our Hollywood Real Estate issue. If you’re interested in buying what Galati’s laying down, you can contact him at www.myspace.com/aussieinla.

Accomplishment You’re Most Proud Of: Moving to a new country alone, not knowing anyone and making a new life

House or Condo? House—I love having a yard!

You’ve been in the states for about eight years now. When did you first start to feel at home here?

Probably within the last two to three years, I have really started to feel at home here in L.A. The moment I felt L.A. was home [was when] I was flying back from Sydney after visiting my family. Right as the plane was about to land, I looked out the window, smiled and thought it was great to be home.

What’s the most interesting piece of advice anyone’s given you on being a real estate agent?

Just be yourself, keep it professional and maintain relationships and friendships.

What’s the biggest perk of being a real estate agent?

The flexibility—and seeing a lot of beautiful homes that most people only get to see in magazines. You also get to look into people’s closets.

I read on your MySpace page about a spiritual journey you’ve began recently. Do you care to talk about the epiphany you had to change the course of your life? And how have you changed your life?

Meeting my best friend Nigel, who is Buddhist, has taught me new ways to evaluate and question myself and to approach life—free of judgment and with hope and faith.

This is our Hollywood Real Estate issue. When selling Hollywood, what are the selling points you typically use?

The location. It is extremely central and constantly changing. It has the old and the new and we are starting to see a lot of great things in the area and more in the years to come.

When you’re not selling, how do you spend your time? Where do you like to hang out?

Usually with my good friends, going to the beach, hiking, the gym and anything outdoors. I love hanging out at Fiesta or the Faultline. … I am a man who wears two hats.

We hear all the time about the bust of the real estate market. Is it a bad time to buy? What piece of advice would you give to our readers looking to purchase right now?

It’s a great time to buy! There are a lot of good properties at great prices, mortgage rates are still low and there are some great programs out there for first time home buyers.
