  Seen

Words & photos by Ken Knox

With time comes change, and it’s with mixed emotions that I announce that this will be my next-to-last installment of “Silver Lake Seen.” The time has come to move on and focus on other projects, but not before a few last hurrahs in the name of Silver Lake sluttiness.

I attempted to make it to Eagle bartender Jeff Rasul’s club Lewd, but I got lost and ended up at the Faultline. It wasn’t such a bad thing, considering they were having a contest up on the stage. This guy wasn’t one of the contestants, but he was certainly could have entered.

The following Sunday I made my way over to the Eagle, where owner Charlie and company were hosting their annual Chili Cook-Off. Bar manager Hunter Fox tied with another participant for best recipe.

This past weekend, I put in some Friday night time at Akbar, where I met these three adorable guys. I was so hot for the one on the far right that I almost didn’t have the courage to ask to take his pic. Luckily for me, I’m able to push through my fear and get the job done.

I ended my two weeks on the scene with a trip to Dragstrip at the Echoplex. With its Evil Dead theme, the club got the Halloween season started with fabulous costumes, hot men and scary drag queens. Then again, you can find those things on any day in this town.
