Club iKon Heads to Eleven

by Victor Barreiro

Are you looking for something new to do on a Sunday night? Well, if you’re over 21, get ready to have some fun like never before! Richie Vega is teaming up with West Hollywood’s Club Eleven in hopes of making Club iKon on Sunday nights your one-stop shop for everything entertainment.

Beginning on Sunday, Nov. 8, club goers will get their chance at experiencing what a Sunday night at iKon will be like. From the best in music to the hottest go-go boys and the sexiest people in town, Vega and Club Eleven will provide that and much more.

Here’s what he had to say:

Tell me about this new venture.

The iKon idea had been floating around for about a year or so. iKon came about thanks to some friends of mine who had expressed to me that they were tired of going to the same old places and hearing the same old music. We all agreed that we wanted something different and that there wasn’t a venue in town that provided what we were looking for. So, I suggested that maybe, just maybe, it was time we took matters into our own hands and create a night that would satisfy our needs. We wanted to create a party that would bring people together (no matter their race, creed, nationality or religion) through music. We are targeting clubgoers in the LGBT community 21 and over and those in the entertainment industry such as models, actors, dancers, singers, etc. As the name implies, our goal is to become an enduring symbol of what a great party consists of.

What makes the iKon night different from others?

This night is different from others because of the style of music that will be featured; deep progressive house spun together with hip-hop; and because of the Hollywood socialites that will be attending. During Sunday night at iKon you could be dancing and socializing next to a well-known person in the entertainment industry.

Why did you choose Club Eleven as the venue?

The spot was chosen because of their contemporary look and style. Many love the layout and spacious feel of the club. Additionally, the bartenders are hot and make some pretty stiff drinks, and not to mention it is centrally located in West Hollywood. Everyone should check out their website at eleven.la.

What’s the most important thing that people should know about iKon at Eleven?

We want to give back to the LGBT community and we are looking into ways to make that happen. Also, this is an event that will cater to everyone who enjoys the soulful bass thumping beats of deep progressive house and hip hop, which will be spun by DJ Derek Monteiro (djderekmonteiro.com) at the launch party.

What do you hope people will walk away saying about your grand opening?

I want people to say, “Wow, that was a good party and I can’t wait for the next one. The music was banging and the drinks were superb!”
