Go Forth and Brunch!

Now that spring has officially sprung, it's time to hit the patios. But most of all, it's time to brunch. Check out these five brunching favorites to either help get your weekend started right, or end it with a full-belly bang.

Wilshire corridor hotspot BLVD 16 has launched a new brunch menu that offers a multitude of treats for a $35 flat fee. Drop that coin on any Saturday or Sunday, and you'll get yourself bottomless glasses of mimosa or champagne, which are even more fabulous when paired with chef Simon Dolinky's take on the breakfast/lunch hybrid, featuring creative spins on Spanish omelets, fennel-cured smoked organic salmon, house-made granola and yogurt parfaits and organic fruit “Smoothie Shooters.” Plus, there's an endless selection of freshly baked fruit danishes, pain au chocolate, croissants and assorted muffins. You'd better bring your hollow leg!

At blue on blue in Beverly Hills mainstay the Avalon Hotel, brunchers can enjoy their meal poolside while dining on delicious, locally sourced—and in some cases, organically made—favorites with a twist. Some of the best dishes include the chorizo and potato enchiladas, with green chile and a sunny-side up egg. The yogurt parfait has fresh farmer's market berries and homemade granola, while the Beverly Hills breakfast boasts locally harvested fruit and wildfire honey. There are also German pancakes and Avalon’s classic eggs and applewood-smoked bacon; it might be too hard to choose a favorite from this list.

Nestled in the Sunset and Vine complex in Hollywood, Hungry Cat always has incredibly fresh offerings of the salad and seafood variety, but their brunch is spectacular. Of note are the various takes on the classic Bloody Mary—with the Bloody Maria featuring Orendain Reposado tequila, the Schnockered with Plymouth gin and pickled vegetables and the Bloody Bull, made with Blue Ice vodka, Bloody Mary mix and beef bouillon. The Hungry Cat has amazing food as well, with a bananas foster challa french toast, and tempura-fried squash blossoms with burrata, fava bean puree, treviso, black olives and breadcrumbs, just to name two awesome dishes.

It may be a WeHo hot spot at night, but Eleven also offers a hair-of-the-dog alternative to lying around on your couch after a night of partying. Every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Eleven offers diners a complimentary mimosa with every order off the brunch menu—and there's a lot to choose from. The breakfast sandwich has fried eggs on cibatta bread, the Moonlight Madness omelet blends eggy goodness with spinach, mushrooms, feta and swiss, and then there's the Festival of the Dancing Virgin. What is it? Blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, bacon or sausage, and fresh fruit. It's worth ordering for the name alone!

Boho, the new kid on the block in Hollywood, just recently launched its brunch service every Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m., but it’s already causing a stir. Chef Andre has an eggs Benedict that's creating a rabid fan base, and that's in addition to those who are hooked on his housemade smoked salmon, housemade hash and cheddar biscuits. As if that's not enough, BoHo also gives brunchers a bottomless cocktail option for just $14, with a choice of champagne, Mimosas, Bloody Marys, Screwdrivers or Raspberry Sunrises.

So regardless of your weekend plans, make sure you make time for at least one day of brunch. Your stomach would want it that way.
