Cheap Date: FOR THOSE WHO LOVE DICK

Phillip K. Dick, that is! In honor of the May 23 midnight screening of Blade Runner: The Final Cut at the Nuart, we bring you a Cheap Date where you simply can’t not have a good time.

7:11 p.m.

Fans of the cyberpunk classic should be able to recognize many of the locations depicted by Ridley Scott in his cinematic interpretation of Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Start your tour of all things Blade Runner by visiting Frank Lloyd Wright’s Ennis Brown House (2607 Glendower Ave. in Silver Lake), which was featured in the film as Deckard’s apartment.

Cost: Free

8:04 p.m.

Slap on some Daryl Hannah-inspired black eye shadow and head on down to Union Station (800 North Alameda St.), the location that served as the police station of the future. We all know what kind of trouble you can get into at train station bathrooms, so try to be on good behavior or you’ll get hauled down to the real station much like Deckard was.

Cost: $6 for parking

8:46 p.m.

Visit the waterlogged home of toymaker Sebastian where Deckard has his final battle with Batty, located at the Bradbury Building (304 S. Broadway). The ground floor is open to the public so feel free to go in and show off your best android impressions.

Cost: Free

9:52 p.m.

You can’t help but notice the gorgeous cylindrical towers of the Bonaventure Hotel (404 S. Figueroa St.) in the film, so why not go up to the fantastic spinning bar located in the hotel for some dinner and drinks. You can’t beat the view of the city, which at night is eerily similar to the dysutopian Los Angeles depicted in the future.

Cost: Depends on how much you drink

11:47 p.m.

Now it’s time to enjoy the restored and re-mastered, not to mention the additional footage shot specifically for this 25th anniversary edition re-release on the big screen at the Nuart Theatre (11272 Santa Monica Blvd). Make sure not to eat too much popcorn or you won’t be able to fit into the same clothes 25 years later—the way Joanna Cassidy did to shoot the bonus scenes. Amazing!

Cost: $10 a person
