In honor of the March 27 screening of Cabaret
at the Aero we bring you an all Liza Minnelli themed Cheap
Date.
2:32 p.m.
We can’t think of a better way to start your Liza lovin’ date
then to visit a nail salon like Gloss Nail Spa (2911 W. Sunset
Blvd.) for your very own Sally Bowles-inspired green manicure.
That way you’ll be sure to make the other patrons of
the screening green with envy for not having thought of it
themselves.
Cost: About $20 each including tip
3:13 p.m.
Allow yourself a little time for your shiny new talons to
dry and head out for a photo op with Liza’s star
on the Walk of Fame (7000 block of Hollywood Blvd.).
Cost: Free
4:56 p.m.
Singing the score of Liza with a “Z” walk down
just a few short blocks to the Hollywood History Museum (1660
N. Highland Ave.) to take in the world’s most impressive
collection of Hollywood glamour including a dress worn by
Liza’s mother—as talented as she was troubled—Judy
Garland in A Star is Born
Cost: $15 each
7:29 p.m.
Catch the Bob Fosse classic Cabaret at the Aero Theatre (1328
Montana Ave.). Watch as Liza gives the Oscar-winning performance
of her life as a cheerfully depraved sprite who falls in
love with a naive writer amidst the madness of 1930s Berlin.
Cost $8 each
10:47 p.m.
Complete your night at the Rainbow Bar & Grill (9015
Sunset Blvd.), formerly the Villa Nova restaurant, where
Vincent Minnelli proposed to Judy Garland. While perhaps
not a traditional romance, theirs was certainly Somewhere
Over the Rainbow.
Cost: Depends if you are drinking like vintage Liza or not
