Give Good Face

Always remember to hydrate your skin as you would your body. Keep it moisturized and protected from the sun’s rays. To avoid leatherface and keep your skin looking healthy and supple, check out these five moisturizers:

1 -Urth Face Balm with SPF 15 is dedicated to all you men. Like its sister face wash, the product worked well. It claims to “protect against harsh elements,” so its thick texture makes sense. It has a strong, medicinal smell, but it definitely felt like it did the trick. (Available for $38 at www.geturth.com.)

2 - It may seem like a strange concept to put oil on your face every day, but Elemeni’s Radiance Face Oil is perfect for special occasions. A drop of the stuff is enough to moisturize your face and neck. It left my skin feeling soft and looking dewy—great before a layer of make-up or after a shave. Although this product is for normal skin, those with problem or oily skin watch out—the oily solution may cause further breakouts. (Available for $34 at www.elemeni.com.)

3 - Perfect for all travelers, Kinerase’s Hydrating Antioxidant Mist can be used as a toner after cleansing or to spray onto the face throughout the day to help re-energize the skin. It refreshes and revitalizes and most importantly, doesn’t sting your eyes. Its alcohol-free and hypoallergenic formula is great for those with sensitive skin and is suited for all skin types. (Available for $35 at www.kinerase.com.)

4 - I was impressed with this line’s face wash but not so much with iS Clinical’s Hydra-Cool Serum. Its thin, bright-bluish liquid didn’t seem like the right thing to put on my face. Despite having a pleasant mint scent and leaving a cool, soothing sensation on my skin, it left it slightly sticky and unlike the other products, lacks SPF factor. (Available for $85 at www.isclinical.com.)

5 - For those with dry skin, check out Jason’s Daily Moisturizing Crème with SPF 15. Although this product didn’t smell of anything exciting, it was rich and hydrating. My skin was left soft and nourished. For $16, this is the best of the bunch in terms of value for money. (Available at
www.jason-natural.com.) —PEARL BARRACLOUGH
