The Witching Hour

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Michael Liberatore's article (“Wicca Rising,” Jan 15 issue) about discovering and embracing Wicca. It's always wonderful to me to hear that someone has found a spiritual path that is exciting and works for them. The only thing about his article that I didn't enjoy were his repeated assertions that Wicca is the perfect path for gay and lesbian people. There are many choices now available for gay and straight people that are interesting, humane, and inclusive. It's up to the individual to decide which one he or she chooses. Isn't the struggle for gay and lesbian rights all about freedom to choose how we live our lives? That being said, I wish Mr. Liberatore well and congratulate him on his new adventure. Happy New Years to everyone at Frontiers and to all our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.

Eye Catching

I've just finished reading the Jan. 29 issue of Frontiers. I've been reading the columns by Don Kilhefner and Roberto Blaine and want to commend you for adding something that makes the magazine worth spending some time with. This issue had several other articles, one by Joe Weston and another by Rick Carter, that also interested me.
I've been looking through Frontiers for a long time mostly just turning pages till something caught my eye. I'm past the age of wanting to know where the hot spots are, so I look for more substance in a gay periodical. I hope that you'll keep offering articles that add to the depth of the gay experience along with the more frivolous aspects of gay life which one is never too old to be interested in. I belong to Dignity/Los Angeles, and I know that others there have mentioned reading Don Kilhefner's articles, so there is an audience for this sort of reporting.
Keep up the good work.

Both Sides Now

Thanks for including the “Edging Out” column in your Conscious Living section (Jan. 29 issue). It's pretty impressive that your publication is providing a forum for gay folks to learn about integrating spirituality into their lives. The best part is that the authors express their ideas simply and offer very practical advice, without making these life changes into something overwhelming or daunting. Thanks for covering another side of the gay experience.
