Americano

Isn’t it nice when the most convenient option is also the most environmentally-friendly? I’ve been using the Soda-Club home soda maker at home for a year now without even stopping to thank myself for saving the earth. Dear Earth, you’re welcome.

The machine is a home carbonation device that makes seltzer water and fizzy drinks. I don’t drink a lot of sodas so I hadn’t experimented with the flavors, but I recently learned they’ve eliminated the use of all high fructose corn syrup in favor of real sugar, so I’ll be giving them a second shot. They offer more than 25 regular and diet soda flavors, unsweetened ‘flavor essences’ to make flavored sparkling water, and even energy drink formulas.

For alcohol drinkers, the refillable little carbonator tanks that charge up to 110 liters ofsoda allows for nearly unlimited soda water, tonic water, ginger ale, and cola to mix with your booze. This saves 110 bottles or cans from needing to be used and recycled, a heck of a lot of trips to the grocery store, and precious space in your apartment refrigerator too.

1 oz. Campari

1 oz. sweet vermouth

Soda water

Lemon, lime, or orange wedge for garnish.

Ahh, a traditional aperitif. Is it happy hour yet? Add the first two ingredients to an ice-filled glass. Top with soda water and add garnish.
