THERE’S A COLD-HEARTED KILLER on the streets called
fear and it’s running wild through
the city of Los Angeles, and other towns and cities across
the world. It enters through the mind and bit-by-bit, slays
the soul. It seems to be exterminating the divine essence
of our real identity; at least, that’s what we’re
being led to accept as true. But don’t believe it,
even though there’s evidence trying to persuade you
to.
Take a glance at any newsstand. You’ll see these newsstands
as major signposts for broadcasting the headlines of despair
and fear across the world. Pronounced so bolding in all of
it’s variations, one could say that these media outlets
base their entire programming on concepts of lack, disease,
and terrorism—all of which breed fear—it’s
the macrocosm of our ego minds. Fear, if you enter into a
relationship with it, will undoubtedly lead you down a path
laden with obstacles and crises in your life. A path whose
time has come to an end.
Fear is the ego’s tool to prevent you from being all
that you can be. To stop you from knowing your true identity,
God. Fear makes us grasp for ideals based on fantasy highs
that will never meet the touch of your hand. Fear keeps you
frozen in a time warp of past memories and future tripping,
and never keeps you in the moment. It paces around your soul
and gains momentum as it takes
hold of your thoughts, feelings, and actions, if you let
it. Our charge is not to let it. The text from Gifts from
a Course in Miracles, by Marianne Williamson, says that “all
healing is essentially the release from fear.” Are
you ready to release?
Fear is prevalent everywhere in our society and there is
an impulse to drown it out by getting high, consuming large
amounts of food and products—anything to avoid the
Truth. This sometimes, uncontrollable urge to get high, higher,
and highest is growing at ever-increasing rates so as to
please the fear factor within, to fill the emptiness. We
can heal it with love, but we must be willing to undertake
this with the help of Spirit.
Gifts from a Course in Miracles states that “Peace
is the ego’s greatest enemy because, according to its
interpretation of reality, war is the guarantee of its survival.
The ego becomes strong in strife.” In order for us
to move beyond the headlines of the world, we must have dominion
over our own personal headlines—from our personal relationships,
to our relationship with ourselves. We must be at peace.
In order for us to be at peace, to love, we must be willing
to let peace in, to release fear.
If not, we’re left unsatisfied with the oceanic feelings
of emptiness and despair, and we’ll turn again and
again back to the devil of deception hoping this time we’ll
get our divine needs met—love, acceptance, creativity,
joy, happiness, freedom, and passion. The seemingly never-ending
cycle speeds up until one day, either through the grace of
God, or through the merciful temple of the body, we’re
given a wake-up call, and that call will have us on our knees.
On our knees we pray for a new way of living, a new way of
being. Our prayers are answered when we realize that we are
the gatekeepers of our thoughts. We get to choose what we’re
allowing to stream through our consciousness. At any given
moment we are either choosing fear or love. Our thoughts
determine our experiences, and behind our thoughts live vibrations
of either love or fear.
When we die to our own ways and means, of filling our selves
up from the outside in with products and people, and begin
to birth ourselves with Spirit, we’ll give labor to
new attitudes, new belief systems, new friends, new love,
and a renewed connection to something that is forever filling
our souls, from the inside. This connection is to the presence
of God, representing the face of God in our daily activities.
By awakening our conscious connection to the one power and
only power, God, our life will carry a tone that vibrates
love, and by doing so transforms the world around us.
Remembering that there’s a power and presence in our
life that permeates all that there is, fades away the illusion
of fear, worry and doubt.
All that one has to do is look at nature and see how effortlessly
and grand it operates without any efforting — there
is not fear inherent in nature. We have the invisible power
of nature operating in us, as us, and through us. It’s
invisible, but very much part of us. It’s everywhere,
responding to everyone, regardless of race, creed, or color.
There is a way to feel your way into this vibration of love
and it’s called prayer. I welcome you to discover a
program of prayer that will dissolve all sense of fear, separation,
and loneliness in your life and behold your true identity,
love.
